Working within the Products and Engineering Department, this skilled Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to specialize in the development (prototype R&D) and production of state-of-the-art technologies for novel advanced sensor/electro-mechanical systems. This opportunity provides potential career growth through program management and increased technical responsibilities. With a need for a deep technical background, this role will be responsible for multiple engineering tasks from design of one-off lab set-ups, to low-mid volume production products, most often requiring designs from a systems and component level. Additional responsibilities include: generating detailed systems/device specifications and managing specifications trade-offs to achieve complete functioning systems.

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years design experience in R&D/Product Development with an emphasis on small electro-mechanical and/or optical systems 
  • Expertise with solid modeling, using Solidworks (preferred), ProE, or CATIA
  • Experience with design for manufacturing and production (injection, molding, casting) for consumer or military goods
  • Experience with mechanical and thermal simulation packages (Solidworks, ANSYS)
  • Ability to produce manufacturing drawings with an understanding of GD&T
  • Creativity, problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written technical communication
  • Ability to present thoughts/ideas to team and leadership in a clear/concise manner
  • Position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance.
